Mystery Case Files: Game Review Dire Grove
MCF: Dire Grove is the latest chapter of Mystery Big Fish Games' Case Files (MCF) series, events taking place in the game right after the Tour of Ravenhearst. Again, assume the role of Master Detective and mystery cases you will continue to address tracks including the supernatural.
MCF: Dire Grove begins with the detective (that's you!) Drove back across the English countryside after solving the mystery of MCF: Return to Ravenhearst. As you're driving, you're caught in a freak snow storm that is so intense that his vision is completely obscured, and forced to stop in a quiet town near the highway: Dire Grove.
Approaching the village, find an abandoned car on the road. Research him, you find pieces of paper and a video tape containing information on a haunting black legend had come to life. As we move further in the village, you begin to discover that something is very wrong here. The village seems deserted, and you find more video tape recordings showing a group of students Archaeology graduate who had come to Dire Grove to investigate a dark old Celtic legend. And by the looks of it, they found what they were looking ...
The first thing you'll notice when playing MCF: Dire Grove is that the production values for this game have gone through the roof, much better than their predecessors already-impressive! All art and music in the game are great and fit the theme and atmosphere brilliantly. To enforce the atmosphere of a snowstorm, also has snowflakes and flying leaves moving around the screen.
What stood out for me was the film like quality in the scenes. The opening scene and all the video clips that show students of archeology and his misfortunes are live recordings of action. The acting is pretty decent and the recordings are quality almost similar to Blair Witch them. All this adds an extra dose of realism to the game, in the drawing as never before.
The gameplay also Dire Grove has evolved from the hidden object gameplay basics of the previous installments of the series MCP. This game is an adventure and exploration game first, with a set of objects hidden and puzzle elements thrown in. You do not was not thinking of one scene to another hidden object. Instead, you use a bit of exploration and logic to decide what to do to achieve their immediate objectives and advance the plot. The game is not very difficult to solve if the majority of the memorabilia will shine to guide light along its path.
The scenes for hidden objects and puzzles which appear as minigames are both of the standard you would expect of a MCF game. The designs are crisp and clear, while the puzzles are difficult enough to require a moderate amount of thinking and planning, but not so difficult for undermine the history or become a stumbling block.
There are also puzzles that span across multiple scenes. You can find a lever or a lot nails in a scene, and not find a use for them until an hour or more later. There are also obstacles that require the handling of the scenes. For example, is an object of interest on the top shelf in the garage. Now, what I can find in the area that I can use to reach it?
As mentioned earlier, The game has excellent production values, and is a puzzle adventure game full-scale that will take in hours and hours. What else can you expect from developers Series Mystery Case Files that have not fraud?

Search for the manufacturer with google on your computer. That's how I find anything and everything. Also, here is a toll free # in which you can give the name of the company you are looking for, and if they have a toll free #, they will give it to you. (Very important # to keep!) Why can I not find a stud, and, if there's plywood behind my drywall, do I need to find a stud?
I bought a stud finder (admittedly a cheap one) to find studs in my wall and floor joists in my ceiling. On the wall the finder is very erratic. I started getting frustrated and just drilled like 20 holes in my wall thinking I'll eventually find one. I haven't. What I have discovered is puzzling me. The drill goes straight through for about a half inch, then there is a little resistance, then it breaks through to air. I did not know what would cause this, so I just figured it was the drywall still. My next plan was to take out the outlets and see if its mounted on a stud. Alas I found wood, but its not a stud. Apparently behind my drywall is a layer of plywood. Should this make it very difficult for a stud finding to find studs, and can I just screw a shelf into the plywood and be fine?
start in the corners you should be able to find wood there,the next stud will be 16" from the corner on one side of the room and at 16" centers til you get to the opposite corner which will be less than 16"from the wood in that corner. that should get you started.also try shining a light down the wall from one end of the room to the other all the imperfections will stand out because of the long shadows that angle of light creates so you my be able to see where the dry wall was nailed off when it was hung the first time.
